Starmarine Special
StarMarine SPECIAL contains potassium silicates and surfactants. StarMarine SPECIAL is suited to remove vegetable and fish oils, mineral oils and fats, whether or not hardened or carbonised. StarMarine SPECIAL is undiluted not suited to use on zinc silicate coatings and most paints/laquers. Diluted with water to a solution of maximum 10% and at a temperature of maximum 65oC, the product is safe to use on epoxy-coatings. It is suited to use on most metals except for aluminium, tin, zinc and galvanised material.
Directions for use
Prewashing: Prior to cleaning with StarMarine SPECIAL, it is advised to wash with hot water of approximately 80oC. In case of drying and semi-drying oils, pre-washing is to be done with cold water.
Spraying after f.i. hydrocarbons: Depending on the amount and character of the contamination, StarMarine SPECIAL is to be used pure or diluted at a temperature of 65oC. Allow the product to work for 10 to 30 minutes and spray afterwards with a powerful high pressure. Warm water is preferred.
Recirculation
After a proper pre-wash, make a mixture of 1-2 % StarMarine SPECIAL with fresh water. Re-circulate for 2-8 hours with a temperature of 65 oC. Flush the tank with warm seawater afterwards for 2-3 hours. Followed by fresh water to remove salts.
